    Good day,
I`m new owner of 3M ESPE LAVA CNC 500. Even though I didn`t try to mill anything and I don`t have ESPE LAVA Frame or know where to buy one I love the disc conversion idea.
I even think that the discs are cheaper option.

I have couple of questions if anyone is able to answer (I would be very thankful):
    1. Can anyone explain to me what CAM software is used to make a milling program for this machine because I bought just the machine and there is no PC and programming software. (I`m a beginner).
    2. I read somewhere that frame barcode scanner can be turned off and can I do it myself and what would be the benefits? (Would I loose the frame changer benefit?)
    3. Is there any initial password for SERVICE menu on the machine and what can I do in SERVICE menu?
    4. Is it possible to get a ESPE LAVA frame dimensions so I can make universal frame? (I did some tracing from photos available on the internet but don`t have the photos from the sides of the frame) or even (if someone have any used I would pay for the shipping, but I figure it would take long to ship overseas)
    5. Does anyone have a photo of ESPE LAVA frame barcode which I could use for testing the machine?
    6. Where can I see which program is loaded or how can I choose which milling program to execute? (I think there is a milling program loaded because when I tried to start the milling the machine replaced the endmill and went to take a new FRAME but didn`t find any)
    7. Is it possible to input the code to take the tool number that I want? (Like M-code in MDI on classic CNC machines?)

    Thank you very much,
    best regards.

Who is Jason F. Doug? What makes you think he knows anything about CAM and the Lava CNC500?

This guy was asking about a 5-axis BIG CNC 500 Lava mill though Doug.

I doubt Jason knows anything about that mill. They are nothing alike at all.

I currently have 14 running big Lava mills, and have owned over 20 of them in total.

Not only have we serviced our own mills and others for 15 years now, but I have converted most of mine to 98mm disk with my own design fixtures, and wrote our own CAM solution 12 years ago.

I have all service documents, spare parts, back-up data, and more for the Lava mills and Lava scanners. You should already know that I'm sure and I'm a little cornfused why you mention Jason over me. He wouldn't be able to help this guy.
